FAQ about vintage style shoes
Vintage shoes are original pairs from the past, often fragile and hard to find in your size. Vintage style shoes are new shoes made to look like the originals. Ours are based on original designs from 1900 to 1950, but made in modern sizes with new materials, so you can wear them every day.
For a 1900s or 1910s look, choose Edwardian boots. T-bar and Mary Jane shoes suit the 1920s, court shoes and oxford heels the 1930s, wedges and lace-up shoes the 1940s, and peep toes and saddle shoes the 1950s.
Yes. Many of our styles are available in a wide fit. Look for the "Wide available" label on the product, or browse our extra wide collection.
Yes. Our heels are shaped for balance and stability, and many styles have soft silicone inserts beneath the leather insole for extra cushioning. They are made to be worn all day, not just for special occasions.
Each product page has a size chart with measurements in centimetres and inches. If you are unsure, our customer service is happy to help, and if the size isn't right, you can exchange or return your shoes.
The story of our vintage style shoes
Every decade of the early 20th century had its own shoe. Edwardian women laced up high boots under long skirts, the 1920s brought T-bar and Mary Jane shoes made for dancing, and the 1930s refined the elegant court shoe and the oxford heel. In the 1940s, wedges and lace-up shoes balanced style with wartime practicality, while the 1950s added slimmer heels, peep toes and saddle shoes.
Our vintage style shoes are based on original shoes from these decades. We keep the details that make each era recognisable, from the shape of the toe and the height of the heel to the straps, buttons and stitching, but make them in sizes you can fit and with the comfort of modern shoemaking.
Most styles are handcrafted in soft full-grain leather or suede. Many have leather outsoles that let the foot breathe and soften with wear, while our winter styles have rubber soles for extra grip. Many styles are also available in a wide fit.
Vintage style should not come at the expense of comfort. Many styles have soft silicone inserts beneath the leather insole, and the heels are shaped for balance and stability, so you can wear your shoes all day, not just for special occasions.
