The story of 1930s shoes
After the carefree 1920s, the 1930s brought a more elegant and grown-up look. Skirts grew longer again, but shoes stayed in focus. Hollywood glamour inspired evening shoes with peep toes, T-straps and Art Deco details in metallic leather, while everyday life during the Depression called for practical oxford heels, lace-up pumps and sturdy boots. Two-tone shoes also became a classic of the decade.
Our 1930s styles are based on originals from the decade. We have kept the period details, from the cut-outs and perforations to the shape of the toe and the curve of the heel.
Every pair is made from full-grain leather or suede in small production runs.
