I love these boots! Every pair of shoes from Memery fills my heart will so much joy. As a wide-footed woman, finding shoes is difficult-- finding vintage inspired shoes even more so. This is the third pair of Memery shoes I have ordered, and I continue to be amazed at both the quality and beauty of them. My local cobber has also complimented every pair of Memery shoes when I; have brought them by to have tread put on (rainy western Canada weather and tiled floors do not make a happy combination with the original soles-- a lesson learned the hard way).

I erred on the side of caution and ordered a size up because I have a high footbridge and wide ankles/calves -- and I am glad I did. It meant the shoes fit perfectly and I did not get any weirdness with lacing or look as I have in other shoes. My previous Memery shoes have been two pairs of Emilys which have a more open top, so this hasn't been an issue.

Just one note, there isn't a loop on the tongue you can thread the laces through (maybe that's just something on modern or sports shoes), so I have noticed on my shoes that I have to keep adjusting the tongue so it stays centred behind the laces as it tends to wander to one side. This has been in issue in other boots that I have ordered -- perhaps I walk weirdly? Maybe this is an issue due to the aforementioned wide calves? I don’t know. But a loop would help solve this problem.

Truly beautiful boots! Honestly, they are so much prettier than on the pictures! I just know they will be soft and comfy in a few wears, the leather is supple and wonderful. They press a bit on the side of my right toe (which is crooked), but I'm sure they will soften up in no time. Absolutely stunning. Loads of room for toes.

Lovely leather boots!

I love these boots. Very comfortable even when I first wore them. The leather will soften over time so they will soon mold perfectly to my wide feet.

I bought these booties for a play I am acting in...perfect turn of the century 1900-1910 boots....they are soooooo comfortable, from first wearing. I am so glad I got them for the show....but even happier knowing I will wear them afterwards as well....such great quality and a great price...Thank you. Garrison

After two pairs of shoes that weren’t right for my feet, these are perfect. So well made, so luxurious

These boots are really beautifully made. They are very comfortable to wear and I love the look of them when they are on. They go equally well with dresses or trousers. One drawback however is that they take so long to put on and take off. Not having a side zip means that you have to open an awful lot of the laces to put them on and remove them, so they are not good if you are in a hurry! I have narrow feet but it still takes me quite a while to put them on.
The other thing I would like advice about is that they feel very slippery in wet conditions and I worry about falling. Can you advise about some way of treating the sole so that they can be made more secure? I love the boots but these drawbacks mean I have to really think before I wear them whether the weather is going to be wet or frosty (as they may not be safe) and how long I will need to leave to put them on and take them off.
